WINGED LION is a production house backed by high net-worth individuals.
STEAL and WAKING NED DEVINE both opened in the number one box office spot in their countries of origin.
The success of STEAL led to Winged Lion raising funds to develop multiple film projects and to secure partial funding for further productions.
We are able to provide up to 50% of the funding for the right project in the right circumstances.
In general we would expect major casting and substantial funding to be attached.
Our interests are in original thrillers and cerebral films of an uplifting subject and quality.

SAVAGE HEARTS (1997)
“The shadow of Alfred Hitchcock floats serenely over this fast-paced chase comedy-thriller. Writer-Director Mark Ezra does a polished job, mixing suspense, humour and sex in about equal proportions, and making good use of some smart locations.”
Variety
“Enough twists and turns to have Hitchcock spinning in his grave.”

APRIL FOOL’S DAYS (aka SLAUGHTER HIGH) (1986)
“SLAUGHTER HIGH is the tale of revenge by a nerdy guy who falls victim to one of the coolest and coldest jokes in cinema history!”
“Can we say ATMOSPHERE? If ever a horror film succeeded on its atmosphere alone, SLAUGHTER HIGH is it! To put it simply, something about this film is damn scary. I don’t think it is one specific thing, but a clever combination of small things that work very well. What we get is one of the most creepy, creative and atmospheric horror films to come out of the 80’s.”
“I will say right now this is a fantastic movie. I give this film two thumbs up, the best horror film made.”

'The wise lender wishes not the risk of the undertaking but the guarantee of the safe repayment'
If you’ve ever dreamed of walking the red carpet or chatting with movie stars at a film premiere, then a Film Investment can make your dream a reality. Film Investments provide a viable and exciting way of diversifying your investment portfolio.
Film Investments can seem perplexing to the uninitiated. Unlike stocks and shares, it can be difficult to assess the current value of your film investment. That is why we at Winged Lion do our best to simplify the process for High Net Worth and Sophisticated Investors.
Once we have developed a quality screenplay we work with experienced sales agents to estimate the international value of the proposed film and the revenue we expect it to generate. We then devise a budget and hire a cast to ensure the film’s costs come within these realistic sales estimates. By investing through Enterprise Investment Schemes and employing the benefits of UK film tax credits, no investor should lose money as long as the movie sells to just 50% of the target countries on the sales list.
Films are classified as higher risk investments, yet UK Taxpayers can benefit from generous HMRC tax reliefs.* These benefits can be worth up to 70% of the investment made through an EIS or SEIS. A further 20% can be returned to investors through the UK Film Tax Credit, so reducing risk by up to 90%.
Investing in a project that reduces the risk to as little as 10%, while maintaining the unlimited upside potential of a successful movie, obviously makes film investing a seriously viable option…and all profits are completely tax free.
Winged Lion has an excellent track record in delivering highly profitable films. SLAUGHTER HIGH, a horror movie directed by Mark Ezra, recouped 960% of its initial investment on its U.S. sale alone. WAKING NED, a comedy which Mark co-produced, cost $3 million to make and has taken more than $110 million at the box office while STEAL, which Mark wrote, made some $75 million worldwide.
We work with accountants, tax lawyers and financial advisors to ensure our investors get the very best value from their investments. We want you coming back for more, and the only way we can hope for your repeat investment is by looking after you and your investment from the start.
*NB We do not participate in Limited Liability Partnerships exploiting Sale and Leaseback arrangements, which have garnered adverse publicity in recent years.
Our track record speaks for itself.

HOUSE SWAPWhat could possibly go wrong? This is a True Story
In 2010 a young couple from Echo Lake, California moved to Glastonbury, England. Within a short time of moving in they discovered their possessions were going missing and that strange things were happening in the house. They contacted the owner who gasped, ‘he’s back!’ The house was plagued by a Stalker who was able to get through doors and windows no matter how often the locks were changed. The sensible thing would have been to move out. But the young couple’s finances were stretched and they had no alternative but to stay put. The Stalker stepped up his campaign to drive them out of the house. The young woman was ready to quit, but her boyfriend was determined to stand up to the harassment. This was their tragedy… The Film …is presented in the form of ‘found’ footage, gathered from the young couple’s camcorder videos and cctv footage recorded on the young man’s computer.EndFragment
